JOHN SPEARS

Founder & CEO

Avondale Private Lending was founded by John after his own private lending experiences in 2015.  After funding several successful renovation projects in Dallas he came to realize the significant opportunity in private lending, for both real estate borrowers and income-oriented investors.

Since then, Avondale Private Lending has originated over 750 private loans totaling over $400 million, and delivered consistent 8-12% annual returns to the fund’s 150+ investors. He is a member of the American Association of Private Lenders (AAPL) and has completed the Certified Fund Manager designation from AAPL.  He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from TCU.  John is a proud father of two children, who are also Avondale’s interns.

ALLISON SPEARS

President

After a 15-year career in medical sales, Allison joined Avondale to focus on sales and marketing to real estate investors. Also, she serves as our company’s President, primary real estate agent and works with real estate investors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to originate loans.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi. As a devoted mother of two, Allison is active in her local school community where she volunteers in various capacities and is an active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, where she contributes to the children’s ministry by teaching Sunday School and choir.

 

ANDREW BENTON

Loan Originator

Andrew has over 10 years of experience in private lending, and specifically private lending investment funds. He previously worked as the head of residential new construction lending at Longhorn Investments and as Managing Director of Parkview Financial. Prior to Parkview, Andrew was an early employee and lead underwriter at Arixa Capital.

Throughout his career in private lending, he has closed in excess of $1 billion of commercial and residential construction loans. At Avondale, Andrew works with real estate investors to fund loan transactions. Andrew has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Azusa Pacific University. His greatest passion is his faith and his family, where he is a proud father of six children.

RYAN BARNETT

Construction Manager

Ryan has over 17 years of experience in construction management and owns a business specializing in home construction and renovations. For Avondale, Ryan reviews all construction draw requests from borrowers and estimates the amount of completion associated with each construction and renovation loan.

In addition, Ryan coordinates with third-party inspectors to verify construction progress. He studied aviation maintenance and technology at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. Ryan is a proud father of four children, who you will often see working along side him on his job sites.

ELIZABETH WARE

Loan Servicer

Elizabeth is our go-to for loan servicing, which includes the many tasks associated with the 100+ renovation and new construction loans in our loan portfolio. She funds new loans as they close and then works with borrowers on their construction draws, insurance policies, monthly statements, loan payoffs and lien releases.

Previously, Elizabeth was a loan specialist with PennyMac Loan Services and a Client Service Rep with Invesco. She has completed the Certified Private Lender Associate (CPLA) designation from the American Association of Private Lenders and graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Southern Adventist University.

CASSIE EGGERS

Processor

Cassie has an extensive career in title, having spent almost 20 years working as an Escrow Officer for various title companies in California, Colorado and Tennessee. She is very familiar with all aspects of escrow closing from opening to disbursement and knows how to ensure smooth escrow transactions for real estate agents, lenders, buyers, and sellers.

At Avondale, she processes borrower applications and loan requests from start to finish. Also, she processes many of our investor-related activities including new investor onboarding, monthly distributions and partner statements. Cassie lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee.

CHARLENE NORFLEET

CPA

Charlene is a seasoned CPA with over 19 years of expertise in auditing and financial accounting. She has a diverse background, having worked in public accounting and held various roles within the finance departments of both public and private companies, including financial institutions.


At Avondale, Charlene manages daily transactions, processes invoices, and compiles monthly financial statements and investor relations reports. With a Master of Accountancy and an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin, she combines technical proficiency with strategic insight in her work. When she is not working on a spreadsheet you can find her exercising, especially running and yoga.
